- Snoopy Snack
- Grey Goose Vodka, Midori, Whipped Cream
- I had the honor of meeting Snoop Doggs wife one evening. She asked me to mix her up a martini with equal parts Grey Goose vodka and Midori followed by a small dollop of whip cream. Shake the three ingredients and strain. Since she didn’t have a name for this concoction, I dubbed it a “Snoopy Snack”! I prefer to serve it as a shooter, rather than a martini, due to its sweet characteristics. Snoopy Snacks are worth a shot. They are easy to make, visually appealing, and the female patrons love them!
- F-16
- Kahlua, Baileys Irish Cream, Canton Ginger Cognac VSOP
- I created this shot as a twist on the B-52. Layer the three ingredients in a shot glass. Pour the Kahlua first and gently layer the Baileys on top of the Kahlua. Now layer the Cognac on top of the Baileys. The Baileys will rise to the top of the Cognac and you will have three unique liqueurs stacked on top of each other. A little time-consuming to construct, but well worth your effort. The F-16 looks really cool and has an exotic flavor profile.
- La Dolce Vita
- Hendricks Gin, Grey Goose Vodka, Dolce Late Harvest
- In Italian, it translates to the sweet life. This recipe came to me from a customer and has since become a favorite of mine. It’s an improvement on James Bonds famous creation from the 1950s, The Vesper. Mix the three ingredients in equal parts, shake vigorously, and strain into a chilled martini glass. Garnish with a fresh lemon twist. A very crisp and elegant cocktail. It works well as an apéritif.
- Cannabis Caipiroska
- Jeremiah Weed Sweet Tea Infused Vodka, Cane Syrup, Lemon Juice, Mint, Soda Water
- A Caipiroska is essentially a Mojito made with vodka instead of rum. I created this beverage in June and have had great success with it over this summer. Muddle 6-8 mint leaves with a half ounce of cane syrup and the juice from half a lemon. Add ice followed with an ounce and half of Jeremiah Weed. Cap with soda water and finish it with a lemon wedge garnish. Sweet and refreshing. A great cocktail to recommend on a hot afternoon.
- Lazy Limeade
- Hanger One Kaffir Lime, Ginger Ale
- When you are slammed and have a customer staring you in the face asking for something a little different, flavored vodkas with some sort of soda are the way to go. They are very simple, fast to make, and should satisfy your customer. One and a quarter ounces of Hanger One Lime, top with ginger ale, and garnish it with a lime wedge.
- Sparkling Tuaca Lemon Drop
- Absolute Citron, Tuaca, Rose Sparkling Wine, Lemon Wedge
- I created this luxurious martini one evening with a famous mixologist while trying to improve on our current cocktail menu. Mix one and a half ounces of Absolute Citron with a half ounce of Tuaca in a martini shaker. Toss in a lemon wedge and shake the hell out it. Strain into a chilled martini glass. Float a nice rose sparkling wine, such as Domaine Carneros. Garnish with a lemon twist.
- The Locust
- Absolute Vanilla Vodka, Clear Creme de Cacao, Green Creme de Menthe, Chocolate Syrup, Fresh Mint, Vanilla Smoothie Mix
- My personal spin on a time-honored classic, The Grasshopper. Combine a half ounce each of Absolute Vanilla Vodka, Creme de Cacao, and Creme de Menthe, with a dash of chocolate syrup, one fresh mint leaf, and vanilla smoothie mix in a blender. Swirl chocolate syrup around the inside of the glass before pouring. Garnish with a mint sprig and cocktail cherry. Works great when someone asks for dessert in a glass.
- Chocolate Martini
- Absolute Vanilla Vodka, Godiva Dark, Dark Creme de Cacao, Baileys Irish Cream
- Every bartender has their own version of this martini. This is mine and I can’t tell you how many women have befallen to its charms. Combine one and a quarter ounces Absolute Vanilla Vodka with a half ounce each Godiva and Creme de Cacao, followed with just a dab of Baileys into a cocktail shaker. Shake and strain into a non chilled martini glass with a chocolate swirl. It you use a chilled glass the chocolate swirl will drip and look like shit. Finish by gently dropping in a de-stemmed cocktail cherry.
- White Chocolate Martini
- Absolute Vanilla Vodka, Godiva White, Clear Creme de Cacao, Baileys Irish Cream
- I love white chocolate. Here is a sexy alternative to the traditional chocolate martini to offer your guests. Make it exactly the same way as my Chocolate Martini, with only one small change. This time use a chilled martini glass without a chocolate swirl.
- Patron Silver and Tonic
- Patron Silver Tequila, Tonic Water
- When the legendary Cheech Marin showed up at my bar one evening, I was very curious as to what his drink of choice was. Perhaps I could interest him in one of my Cannabis Caipiroskas! He ordered a Patron Silver and Tonic with a lemon wedge for a garnish. Interesting. Fifteen years behind the bar and this was the one and only time I’ve ever made that cocktail.
- Slap Shot
- Baileys Irish Cream, Tuaca, Espresso
- A Chip Shot on steroids. A perfect after dinner cocktail for those looking for a second wind. Pour one ounce of Baileys into a snifter with a half ounce of Tuaca. Add a double shot of espresso, top with a swirl of whip cream and finish with just a pinch of cinnamon.
- Chocolate Raspberry Martini
- Stoli Raspberry, Clear Creme de Cacao
- Simple and tasty. Mix one and a half ounces Stoli Razz with one ounce clear Creme de Cacao in a shaker. Strain into a chilled martini glass. Leave enough room to float three fresh red raspberries as a garnish.
- Buttery Nipple
- Butterscotch Schnapps, Baileys Irish Cream
- A very nice shot if you take the time to prepare it correctly, both visually and taste-wise. Pour three-quarters of an ounce of Butterscotch Schnapps into a shot glass. Finish it by very gently pouring a quarter ounce of Baileys down the side of the shot glass until its full…creating a luxurious float. Tastes great and looks cool.
- Liquid Resort
- Captain Morgans Rum, Malibu Rum, Amaretto, Sour Apple Pucker, Pineapple Juice
- Here is a sure shot way to please your patrons. I created this one while messing around with a friends recipe. Trust me, mine is better… much more refined! Pour a quarter ounce each of the Captain, Malibu, and Amaretto into a shaker. Follow with just a dash of Sour Apple Pucker and a dabble of pineapple juice…or if you have it…a fresh pineapple chunk. Shake and strain.
- Mind Eraser
- Vodka, Kahlua, Soda Water
- In a rocks glass, pour in three-quarters of an ounce Kahlua. Gently layer three-quarters an ounce of vodka on top and finish with soda water. Use vanilla vodka if your customer wants it on the sweeter side. Garnish with two straws. This is actually a very large shot designed to be sucked down quickly through the straws. If your guest drinks it correctly, they will probably receive an ice cream headache. Thus the name…Mind Eraser.
- The Green Dragon
- Midori, Grey Goose Vodka, Bacardi 151 Rum, Pineapple Juice
- This is a pyrotechnic shooter I came up with around a month ago. Currently its one of my favorites. Pour in just less than half an ounce of Midori in a shot glass. Layer a splash of pineapple juice on top, followed with the Grey Goose, and cap it with 151. Use a cherry to layer, as it will actually fit in the shot glass and works much better than a spoon. Now light it! Allow it to burn for 5-10 seconds before extinguishing the flame and shooting. The experience begins with the warm rum and vodka, followed by refreshing pineapple juice, and wonderfully ends with the sweetness of the Midori.
- Lycheetini
- Stoli Raz, Alize Rose, Lychee syrup
- A lychee is an exotic fruit originating from Southern China with subtle sweet characteristics. This is my version of the cocktail. Mix exactly one and a quarter ounces of Stoli Raz with three-quarters an ounce of the Alize and just a splash of Lychee syrup. Shake, strain, and garnish with a raspberry stuffed lychee on a cocktail stick. I put this one on our a menu a few years ago and it had been selling pretty well.
- Open Grave
- Jagermeister, Baileys Irish Cream
- No, this is not the drink that Carla gave Diane in that episode of Cheers! It does however share the same name and it looks really cool. Simple to build. Just pour a half ounce of chilled Jager into a shot glass followed by layering a half ounce of Baileys over the top.
- Jalepeno Martini
- Grey Goose Vodka, Fresh Jalepeno
- The spice of life! This one is simple. Cut off just a sliver from a fresh jalapeno pepper and lightly muddle it in the bottom of your shaker. Add ice and two ounces of Grey Goose Vodka. Shake vigoursly and strain into a chilled martini glass. This martini will have a nice light green hue to it and will be slightly spicy with the fresh flavors of the pepper.
- Mini Guiness
- Tia Maria, Baileys Irish Cream
- A very easy shot to make that not only looks cool, but tastes great as well. Fill a shot glass just over three-quarters of the way full with Tia Maria. Layer a small cap of Baileys over the top using a cocktail cherry or a bar spoon. Looks like a tiny pint of Guiness!
- Vodka Sonic
- Vodka, Soda and Tonic Water
- This is a simple cocktail created by a friend if mine. It is a low-calorie, slightly less sweet version of the vodka tonic. In a rocks glass, combine an ounce and a quarter of your favorite vodka. Fill with equal portions soda and tonic water. Garnish with both a lemon and lime wedge.
- Dark and Stormy
- Goslings Dark Rum, Ginger Beer
- A fun drink to push around Halloween and a tasty spin on the traditional rum and coke. In a highball, combine one and a half ounces of Goslings Dark Rum with ice and fill with premium ginger beer. Garnish with a fresh lime wedge.
- Rum Punch
- Malibu Rum, Peach Schnapps, Pineapple and Cranberry Juice
- In the most outlandish tropical glass you have available, add one ounce Malibu Rum with a half ounce Peach Schnapps and ice. Fill with pineapple juice and just a tiny splash of cranberry juice. Garnish with a fresh pineapple and lime wedge. Sweet and sexy. This one is for the ladies.
- Salty Dog
- Vodka, Grapefruit Juice
- Gotta love the name. Anyway, rim a rocks glass with Kosher Salt. Add ice and an ounce and half of your favorite vodka. Fill with grapefruit juice and garnish with a fresh lime wedge.
- Ice Pick

In a highball glass combine one and a quarter ounces of your favor citrus vodka with ice. Fill with freshly brewed iced tea and garnish with a nice juicy lemon wedge.
- Duck Fart
- Kahlua, Baileys, Crown Royal

- The Cherry Blossom
- Amaretto, Baileys, Grenadine, Chocolate Milk
- A wonderful Christmas martini courtesy of Lidia from The Webtender. In a cocktail shaker mix equal amounts Amaretto, Baileys, and chocolate milk with ice. Shake and strain into a chilled martini glass. Carefully sink a small dash of Grenadine and finish by dropping in a cocktail cherry.
- The Grinch
- Green Creme de Menthe, Dark Godiva, Midori, Cream
- A Christmas martini of my own I created for this holiday season. It works well as a dessert in a glass style cocktail and tastes a bit like eggnog. Mix three-quarters and ounce of both Green Creme de Menthe and the Godiva in a cocktail shaker with a dash of Midori and a splash of cream. Shake and strain into a chilled martini glass. Finish with a sprinkle of nutmeg over the top.
- The Happy Ending
- Grey Goose, Canton Ginger Cognac VSOP, Chambord, Orange Juice
- A great tasting and very sexy martini I created with a delightful Chambord finish. In a cocktail shaker, mix one and a half ounces of Grey Goose with a half ounce of Canton Ginger Cognac and a splash of fresh orange juice. Shake and strain into a chilled martini glass. Carefully sink a quarter ounce of Chambord to the bottom and garnish with an orange wheel.
- Screwdriver
- Vodka, Orange Juice
- Around 1949, engineers in America mixed vodka with large cans of orange juice. They stirred the concoction with their screwdrivers! In rocks glass filled with rocks, pour in and ounce and a quarter of your favorite vodka and fill with fresh orange juice. Garnish with an orange wheel.
- Gin Blossom
- Hendricks Gin, Elderflower Liqueur, Grapefruit Juice, Lime Wedge
- A tasty alternative to the traditional gin martini. In a cocktail shaker combine one and a half ounces of Hendricks with a half ounce of Elderflower Liqueur, a dash of fresh grapefruit juice, and a lime wedge. Shake and strain into a chilled martini glass. Garnish with a lime corkscrew.
- Purple Hooter
- Grey Goose Vodka, Chambord, Midori, Sweet and Sour, Sprite
- I am guessing the name comes from the fact that this cocktail is purple and after having a few, your head will be spinning faster than a hungry owls. It works well as both a shooter or a martini. Every bartender seems to have their own version of this one. Here is mine: In a cocktail shaker, mix one ounce of Grey Goose with three-quarters an ounce of Chambord and a dash each Midori and sweet and sour. Shake and strain into a chilled martini glass. Top with a splash of Sprite and garnish with a lemon twist.
- Cucumber Ginger Martini
- Grey Goose Le Citron, Canton Ginger Cognac VSOP, Lemonade, Fresh Cucumber

Shake and strain into a chilled martini glass. Garnish with a cucumber wheel.
- Sparkling Lemongrass Rose Gimlet

Add your ice, one ounce of Hendricks, a half ounce of Alize Rose, and a splash of cranberry juice. Shake and strain into a chilled martini glass. Top with a rose champagne or sparkling wine. Garnish with a lemon twist.
- Pear Lemon Drop
- Grey Goose La Poire, Simple Syrup, Two Lemon Wedges.
- Lemon Drops fell on the cocktail world in Manhattan somewhere in the early 1990′s. They were originally served as shots, but today are more popular as martinis. Here is a tasty spin on this simple cocktail. In a shaker combine one and a half ounces Grey Goose La Poire with a half ounce of simple syrup and two fresh lemon wedges. Shake and strain into a chilled martini glass with a sugar rim. Garnish with a lemon twist.
- Nuttytini

- O.J.
- Absolute Mandarin, Orange Juice, Coke
- I wonder if OJ Simpson knows there is a drink named after him? I got this recipe from a guest several years ago. It doesn’t sound very appealing on paper, but it actually tastes pretty good. In a highball filled with ice, pour in one and a quarter ounces of Absolute Mandarin…fill with fresh orange juice and top with a healthy splash of Coke. Garnish with an orange wheel.
- Orange Flower
- Absolute Mandarin, Elderflower Liqueur, Cranberry Juice
- Orange flowers symbolize happiness and confidence. Here is a martini of my own to celebrate those traits. In a cocktail shaker mix one and a quarter ounces of Absolute Mandarin with a half ounce of Elderflower Liqueur and a splash of cranberry juice. Shake and strain into a chilled martini glass. Garnish with a fresh lime cart-wheel.
- Pearl Harbor
- Vodka, Midori, Pineapple Juice
- A simple cocktail. Fast and easy to make. The name cracks me up considering Hawaii is famous for its pineapples and Midori is a Japanese liquor. In a highball glass filled with ice pour in one ounce of your preferred vodka and a half ounce of Midori. Fill with pineapple juice and garnish with a fresh pineapple triangle.
- Slippery Nipple
- Baileys, White Sambuca
- I am not sure who created this shot, but I do know it started becoming popular in the 1980′s. Fill a shot glass roughly two-thirds of the way with Sambuca and carefully layer the Baileys over the top. Some bartenders like to place one drop of Grenadine on top of the Baileys to create…the nipple. I don’t…I am not a fan of Grenadine and ultimately this will disturb the layering of the shot.
- Mexican Slippery Nipple
- Kahlua, White Sambuca, Baileys
- More visually appealing and an even tastier version of the shot above. Carefully layer the three ingridients…Mexican, Italian, and Irish…in equal portions in that exact order.
- Shitty Nipple
- Grappa, Baileys
- Believe it or not, some people actually enjoy the raw and fiery taste of Grappa. This is a great shot because the Baileys mellows this out a bit and it is definitely a flavor combination most people haven’t experienced. Fill a shot glass half way with Grappa. Carefully float Baileys over the top.
- Sour Apple Martini
- Grey Goose, Sour Apple Pucker, Sweet and Sour
- This cocktail is fast and easy to make and looks cool. In a cocktail shaker mix one ounce of Grey Goose with an ounce of Sour Apple Pucker and just a dash of sweet and sour mix. Shake and strain into a chilled martini glass. Garnish by sinking a cocktail cherry to the bottom.

Shake and strain into a chilled martini glass rimmed with raw sugar. Garnish with a lime spiral.
- Far East Manhattan
- Woodford Reserve Bourbon, Canton Ginger Cognac VSOP, Fresh Orange Rind
- This is a flavorful spin on a traditional Manhattan. Take an orange half-moon and gently separate the rind from the pulp…lightly rub the rind around the rim of the glass and drop it in. Press it once or twice with a muddler…just enough to extract the oils. Add ice and two ounces of Woodford Reserve followed by a half ounce of Canton Ginger Cognac. Garnish with a stir stick.
- French Martini
- Grey Goose, Chambord, Fresh Pineapple
- This is my recipe for the standard French Martini. In a cocktail shaker mix one and half ounces of Grey Goose with a small piece freshly cut pineapple meat and just a tiny splash of pineapple juice. Shake and strain into a chilled martini glass. Sink a half ounce of Chambord to the bottom creating two distinct layers in the martini. Garnish with a small pineapple triangle.
- Blue Hawaii
- Vodka, Blue Curacao, Sweet and Sour, Pineapple Juice, Orgeat Syrup
- Invented in 1957 by the head bartender at the Hilton Hawaiian Village in Waikiki, Harry Yee. He was approached my an ambassador from Bols to create a cocktail featuring their new product…Blue Curacao. I hope they paid him appropriately because I am certain Bols has made millions of dollars on the sales of Blue Curacao since this drink achieved popularity. This is my version of Harry Yee’s classic creation. I like to layer it. Fill a tropical glass with ice and add a quarter ounce of orgeat syrup with a half ounce of vodka. Follow with just a tiny splash of sweet and sour and fill with fresh pineapple juice…leaving enough room to float an ounce and half of Blue Curacao over the top using a cocktail spoon. Garnish with a pineapple triangle skewered with a cocktail cherry.
- Nutty Irishman
- Baileys, Frangelico, Amaretto
- There are two popular ways to make this cocktail. The first is with Baileys, Frangelico and cream. The second is simply Baileys and Frangelico. This is how I prefer to concoct mine. In a cocktail shaker mix three quarters an ounce of Baileys, Frangelico and Amaretto. Shake and strain into a chilled martini glass. No garnish is necessary, however if you really want one, you can always sink a cocktail cherry.
- Cosmopolitan
- Absolute Citron, Cointreau, Cranberry Juice, Fresh Lime Juice
- Born in the 1970′s and coming of age in the 1980′s with Sex in the City. Popular with women and the gay community…this cocktail is here to stay. I prefer to concoct mine using the internationally standardized recipe developed in Miami around 1988. In a cocktail shaker mix one and half ounces of Absolute Citron with a half ounce of Cointreau, the juice from one eighth of a fresh lime and a miniscule splash of cranberry juice…you are looking for a nice light pink color. Shake and strain into a chilled martini glass. Garnish with a lemon spiral.

Shake once and empty the contents into a highball. Top with sprite and garnish with a lemon spiral.
- Tequila Sunrise
- Don Julio Blanco, Fresh Orange Juice, Grenadine
- Created in Acapulco or Cancun in the 1950′s, this cocktail looks cool and tastes great. In a highball filled with ice add an ounce and a quarter of tequila and fill with orange juice leaving a little room at the top. Roll once. Now carefully pour a half ounce of grenadine down the inside edge of the glass. It will settle on the bottom and slowly rise up…creating the sunrise. Garnish with an orange half-moon skewered around a cocktail cherry.
- Blueberry Lemonade
- Stoli Blueberry, Fresh Lemonade
- A simple and refreshing cocktail suitable for a hot day. In a highball filled with ice…pour in an ounce and a quarter of Stoli Blueberry and fill with fresh lemonade. Roll once. Garnish with a lemon wedge skewered over three fresh blueberries.
- Lava Flow
- Bacardi, Malibu, Pina Colada Mix, Strawberry Puree, Fresh Banana
- A blended libation popular in Hawaii and often confused with the Miami Vice from Florida…however, the Lava Flow is easier to concoct, tastes better, and is more visually appealing. Here is my personal recipe: In a blender mix one ounce of Bacardi, a half ounce of Malibu, one-eighth of a fresh banana, Pina Colada mix, and the proper amount of ice. Blend until very smooth. In a tropical glass add about two ounces of strawberry puree. Now pour the contents of the blender into the glass and over the puree. This will make a strawberry swirl….creating the lava flow. Garnish with a pineapple triangle and a cocktail cherry.

Shake and strain into a chilled martini glass. Garnish by sinking a cocktail cherry.
- French 75
- Bombay Sapphire, Champagne, Simple Syrup, Fresh Lemon Juice
- A classic champagne cocktail born around 1915 and coming of age in a cocktail book in 1930. It’s one of those libations that’s easy to customize and there are a variety of recipes for this one. Shake and strain into a chilled champagne fluke. Carefully finish with a cap of champagne. Garnish by draping a lemon spiral.

- Butterscotch Schnapps, Baileys, Goldschlager
- Personally, I don’t think the flavor profiles in this cocktail resemble that of a carrot cake, but it tastes pretty damn good…if you are in the mood for something on the sweet side. I like to serve it on the rocks. In a rocks glass filled with ice…add three-quarters an ounce each of Butterscotch Schnapps and Baileys. Finish with a half ounce of Goldschlager. Roll once. Garnish with a stir stick.

- Black Velvet
- Guiness Extra Stout, Brut Champagne
- A classic and elegant beer cocktail. Fill a champagne flute halfway with Guiness and complete with a nice brut champagne. No garnish necessary, however a couple of blackberries over the top would probably work.
- Rusty Nail
- Johhnie Walker Black Label, Drambuie
- A scotch based cocktail that has been around since the late 1930′s. The original recipe calls for blended scotch. The smooth and velvety nuances of J.W. Black Label work perfectly with this cocktail, however Dewars 12 year…or Cutty Sark…are equally as satisfying. It can be served on the rocks…or up…and a fresh lemon spiral as a garnish is optional. One and a half ounces J.W. Black Label with a half ounce of Drambuie.
- Sex On The Beach

- Essentially just a Sex on the Beach in shooter form. I love the name. In a cocktail shaker…add three quarters an ounce of vodka with a quarter ounce of peach schnapps and a dash of orange and cranberry juices. Shake and strain into a rocks glass.
- Adios Motherfucker
- Gin, Vodka, Tequila, Blue Curacao, Rum, Sweet and Sour, Sprite
- Often referred to as an AMF. A very non-classy cocktail along the lines of a Long Island Iced Tea. In a highball…add a half ounce of each liquor to a splash of sweet and sour. Cap with sprite and garnish with a lime wedge.
- Washington Apple
- Crown Royal, Sour Apple Pucker, Cranberry Juice
- A very popular shooter. In a cocktail shaker…combine a half ounce of Sour Apple Pucker with a half ounce of Crown Royal and a tiny zap of cranberry juice. Shake and strain into a rocks glass. Complete with an effervescent splash of Sprite.
- Cuba Pintada
- Silver Rum, Soda, Coke
- A very simple variation of the Cuba Libre. Stained Cuba. In a highball…add an ounce and a half of your favorite white rum and finish with just a tiny splash of Coke over the top…to create the stain. Garnish with a fresh and happy lime wedge.
- Skinny Pirate
- Captain Morgan’s Spiced Rum, Diet Coke
- A clever name for Captain and Diet. In a highball…combine an ounce and a quarter of Captain Morgan’s with Diet Coke. Garnish with a thin lime wedge.
- Prairie Fire
- Tequila, Tabasco
- This one will put hair on your chest. Fill a shot glass with your favorite tequila leaving just enough room for a drop or two of Tabasco sauce over the top.
